Göran bought his first SLR 1967 and joined a local Photo Club – Enskede Fotoklubb 1968 and was their chairman 1972-1982. Still an active member and from time to time acting as a senior advisor to the club’s board. He was appointed Honorary Member of the club 2010.
He participated in his first international salon in 1984 and a few years later formed a special interest group within the local club together with 5 other members. The main goal for the group was to improve their photographical skill by discussing international photography and to participate in international salons. In 2000 all 6 members received AFIAP. Still very active in international salons Göran received EFIAP/d2 in 2022. This group has had numerous exhibitions on different locations in Sweden.
Member of the board of the National Association of Swedish Photography (RSF) from 1986 to 2018. Vice President 2003-2007 and Secretary General 2010-2018. In 2008 he was appointed RSF Honorary Member. Still helping the National Association by acting as deputy chairman for Swedish/Nordic International salons 1-2 times per year.
Göran has always enjoyed and appreciated the teamwork within larger or smaller groups of photographers. It’s a brilliant way of sharing experience and knowledge. In 2014 he joined a Photo Community with the mission to upload one image every day and to comment on other’s images. This has helped him to improve one of the most important skills of photography by always having his eyes open: The Art of Seeing.
