Mr. AAGE MADSEN
EFIAP, NSMiF/g, MNFFF/b, ASDF
Aage was born in 1951 in a small town in Denmark. He was educated as a teacher in 1978 and worked as such for 37 years. He began to take pictures in 1967 and has on/off been photographing since then
The interest started as a fascination of being able to capture impressions and of the technique which made it possible. The inspiration to buy a camera and get started came from his older brother, his work and magazines.
In these magazines Aage was inspired by the pictures made by photographers like Irving Penn, Duane Michals, Ralph Gibson etc. Later he also found inspiration in books, exhibitions and art.
Through his “photographic career” Aage has worked with many different motifs/subjects inspired by the world around him – the world you see and depict, and the world/images you do not see physically – the ones you “imagine/construct.”
Since the beginning of 2018 he has participated in a lot of competitions obtaining more than 2000 acceptances, 70 medals and about 250 HMs/Diplomas.
